Supabase is a backend platform. FastCRUD is a data API for the database you can't replace.

Supabase is excellent if you're starting greenfield, want everything (database, auth, storage, edge functions, realtime) in one box, and are happy to run on their hosted PostgreSQL. For a lot of teams, that's the right answer. Use Supabase.

FastCRUD is not trying to be a backend platform. We do one thing: put an audit-ready REST and GraphQL API on top of the database you already have. SQL Server, Oracle, an existing PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB — whatever your ERP, billing, ledger, or EHR is running on. We exist because some databases are not moving, and the team running them still needs a modern API on top.
